Here is how the new AirPods Pro stack up against the other Apple AirPod models.

Apple, on September 7, launched the second generation of AirPods Pro at its “Far out” event. The new earbuds come with an H2 chip that promises to cancel noise more efficiently. Apple claims this chip will cancel noise two times more than its predecessor. The earbuds have swipe control and other features. They are expected to arrive by September 23. The earbuds fit in the ear better and come with extra ear tips in different sizes.

The new improvements prevent audio distortion. The custom amplifier delivers rich bass and clear audio. The second-generation AirPods Pro is different from the second and third-generation AirPods and AirPods Max. Apple does not sell those devices now but the first-generation AirPods can be found at many retailers, including Target, Walmart, and Amazon.

Several features of AirPods Pro 2 have been improved. They are better than their predecessor. However, do the new features justify the $249 price? It is difficult to answer as different AirPods are available at different prices.

AirPods Pro 2 has shorter stems but it is wider and heavier now. Those looking for a comfortable fit can consider both the first and second-generation AirPods Pro. The latter comes with silicone-replaceable ear tips. AirPods 2 and AirPods Max may not be the perfect choice during intense workouts as they do not offer protection against water and sweat.

The battery of the latest AirPods Pro 2 offers six hours of audio which extends to 30 hours with the charging case. The battery of the first generation AirPods Pro provided only 4 1/2 hours of audio that extended to 24 hours with the case. AirPods Pro 2 can also be charged using the chargers of the Apple Watch.
