Google has enhanced its Calendar feature to allow users to share their availability with colleagues, making it easier to know when they can be reached. In 2021, the firm introduced “working locations,” which enable customers to choose where they are working through their schedules. To more precisely reflect their availability, they can now set their working locations in the calendar for certain times of the day.
Working from various locations is frequent for employees with mixed work settings, as Google stated in its release. Coworkers may find it simpler to decide whether they can meet in person to collaborate or if a video conference needs to be scheduled in its place thanks to this feature. They can create an event, choose Working Location, pick a time period, and then specify their location for those hours to use the functionality. All Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Fundamentals, Education Standard, Education Plus, the Teaching and Learning Upgrade, and Nonprofit users now have access to the updated Working Location feature.
Additionally, the tech behemoth is enhancing Google Docs’ author friendliness. The Docs file will now open in edit mode when users launch the app and open it on an Android device. They can now enter the document directly and start typing or making changes without having to press the edit button first. Unless they have a hardware keyboard connected to their device, tapping on the open document will immediately bring up the on-screen keyboard.
