This post covers how to pair AirPods with an Xbox Series X or S.
Using the Xbox app, you can use your AirPods with your Xbox Series X or S console if you stream content from your console to your phone. The catch is that using your phone instead of television is required.
Unfortunately, Bluetooth audio communication is not supported by the Xbox Series X or S. Therefore, you cannot connect Bluetooth earbuds, headphones, or headsets. To connect a wireless audio device to your Xbox Series X or S, it must comply with Microsoft’s wireless standard or have a USB adapter that supports it.
Here’s how to utilize your AirPods with the Xbox software while playing games on your Xbox Series X or S.
Step 1
Connect your AirPods to an iOS, Android, or iPadOS device.
Step 2
Get the Xbox app and set it up on your gadget.
Step 3
Tap Sign in after launching the Xbox app on your device.
Step 4
Sign in with the same account that you use to access your Xbox.
Step 5
Press LET’S GO.
Step 6
Click the people’s icon (the Second icon from the left at the bottom).
Step 7
Tap the headset icon located in the top right.
Step 8
Select ADD PEOPLE.
Step 9
Choose friends to connect
Step 10
You can now use your AirPods to communicate with your Xbox Series X|S pals.
It is best to download the Xbox app to your phone, sign in with your Xbox network account, and then join Party Chat via the app to get around the inability to link a set of AirPods directly to your Xbox Series X or S. Once that has happened, you can talk with your friends as though your AirPods were physically attached to your Xbox Series X or S console.
